Cruising Nails: An Update

July 2024- Folly Beach

In March of 2023, I became a travel agent with a focus on cruising, and can say now that we have gone on even more cruises than before. I have learned even more about how to take care of my manicures while cruising. In June of 2023, I posted an article on my Cruising Nails giving some tips on how I try to keep my nails nice while in the hot tub or participating in various activities throughout the ship.

Since then, I have become even more careful to use soap and water when I can, instead of hand sanitizer. I am careful to not rub sunscreen (especially the spray on kind) into my manicures. I am sure that I look weird doing this, but I have gotten in the habit of leaving my hands out of the water while in the pool or hot tub while on the ship. Finally, I have started packing my Quick Dry Top Coat with me so that I can put on an additional layer half way through the cruise.

As far as style is concerned, I have moved away a bit from using stamps for my vacation nails. Instead, I look for fun toppers or different methods to make my nails look festive. A lazy gradient has become a new favorite method of mine as it works well with polishes that have a jelly base. I enjoy doing a skittle as well that allows me to use multiple colors while staying with a theme.
