On May 7th, 2006, I went on my first cruise with my brand new husband. It was our honeymoon -- a magical experience with a suite, a concierge lounge, and every amenity we could dream of. My husband had planned it all as a surprise, and it was everything I could have hoped for. As wonderful as it was, life got busy, and it would be another 9 years before we stepped aboard a ship again.
We were building our family, our careers, our life together. Chris was working on his career as a consultant. I had set out to be an elementary school teacher, but we decided I would stay home with our growing family. Both parenthood and Chris's career came with increasing pressure and stress. In 2015, when we finally returned to cruising, it reminded us what it feels like to breathe.
Since then, we have made it a priority -- and I have made it my mission to help other families find that same feeling. Cruising is not just a vacation for us. It is how we reset, reconnect, and remember what matters most.
