Leaving the Happiest Place on Earth (for Adults)
Debarkation- While sad, debarkation was pretty simple as well. You are invited to chose your debarkation time in the app and you can put your bags out by 10:00pm using the same tags that were put on there during embarkation. We chose the earliest time (7:30-8:00) but because we had mainly packed the night before we had time to go up to The Galley to get breakfast. Breakfast was once again excellent and everything was made to order. It didn’t seem rushed or crowded at all. After breakfast, we got our bags and headed down towards the gangway. We got in line at 7:15, which started to move at 7:35. If you had been staying in a Rock Star suite, then you were escorted to the front of the line. We were through the port and customs by 7:45 (thanks to our digital passports) and in an Uber to the airport by 7:50.
Post-cruise Planning- If you had as good of a time as we did, then you will be wanting to plan your next cruise. While on board and for the next 2 weeks after debarkation, you can put down $300 deposits for future cruises and with that deal (as of 9/24/23) comes $300 off your next cruise as well as $600 On Board Credit. This deal can be transferred once to anyone (so before you leave for your cruise you can see if anyone would want you to purchase this for them), you are given 2 years to book and sail on your next cruise and it can be stacked with any current deal offered. This means that if the cruise you are looking at offers $300 Bar Loot then you will receive $300 off the price listed, $600 OBC and $300 Bar Loot. And, the travel agent on your current booking (wink) will take ownership for any future cruises you purchase on board. Assuming that all of this works the way that they say, this deal is one of the better ones that we have come across and one of the reasons that we are considering shifting our loyalties.
Aside from wanting to tell all of your friends what a great time that you had, you may also be moved to let Virgin know your thoughts on your most recent cruise. Just like with most cruise lines, Virgin sends a survey where you can shout out the great service you received, celebrate the things that you enjoyed most and make suggestions on how the experience could be improved. Because Virgin Voyages is a young company, they are listening to the wants, wishes and needs of their clients and making adjustments accordingly so you opinions can make a difference.
