Wonder of the Seas
Currently the biggest cruise ship in the world, Wonder of the Seas has the best that Royal Caribbean has to offer. From entertainment, to the food, to the upgraded venues and even the cruise director, we knew that we were in the presence of greatness.
The talent that we experience whether in the main theater, on the ice rink or at the aqua theater has been unmatched from anything that we have experienced. In the main theater, they had the Effectors 2 as their main show and it was amazing. The sets and the drones and the lighting was incredible to watch and the talent of the actual performers was so good that I was left wondering if it was real.
The Wonder of the Seas is the first ship to have a new restaurant called The Mason Jar. This delicious concept has all of what is great about southern cuisine. Along side their bar that offers delicious bourbon drinks, you will often see a country or bluegrass band performing, which is so fun. We will be very surprised and disappointed if we don’t see The Mason Jar on the Icon of the Seas and other new ships coming in the future.
Along with the classic venues that you have come to love on the Oasis class ships, you will also find some other new venues. There is a playground for the kiddos and a fancy margarita bar right next to El Loco Fresh, where you can get some unique beverages. As well, you can find the Music Hall, which is a great place to go and hear life music during your cruise.
When we sailed on Wonder of the Seas in December of 2022, we were fortunate enough to get to sail with Cruise Director, Mike, who we feel is the best in the business. He is the perfect mix of fun and sincerity. We have had some cruise directors who are too goofy, not goofy enough, lack energy, have too much energy or are too serious. We have sailed with Mike twice now and feel that he is the perfect mix of all things required to make a great cruise director, which is why Royal keeps putting him on all of the newest ships. While it hasn’t been 100% confirmed, sources tell us that he will be on the Icon of the Seas very soon.
What’s great is that you will find that as attention turns towards away from Wonder and turns towards the Icon of the Seas that prices on cruises will start to come down. In the meantime, don’t waste your time. Book now and save once the price goes down.
